The Duchess of Sussex’s Charities and Patronages

2018 | The Royal Foundation
The Royal Foundation revolves around four main themes of work; mental health, wildlife and conservation, young people and the armed forces community. The Duchess of Sussex became the fourth Principal Patron following her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.


2018 | The Charities Forum
The Charities Forum brings Their Royal Highnesses individual charitable interests together and explores how they can best lend their support to them all in an effective and efficient way.


2019 | National Theatre
The National Theatre aims to reach the widest possible audience, to be open, inclusive and diverse, and as national as possible. They stage a broad range of productions in London and tour extensively across the UK.


2019 | The Association of Commonwealth Universities
The ACU champions higher education as a force for good in the Commonwealth. Among its key principles is the value of higher education to society – or its role ‘as a common good’ – and the conviction that this value is enhanced by international collaboration.


2019 | Smart Works
Smart Works is a UK charity that provides high quality interview clothes and interview training to unemployed women in need. Women are referred to them from organisations such as job centres, work programmes, prisons, care homes, homeless shelters and mental health charities.


2019 | Mayhew
Funded entirely by public donations Mayhew aims to promote animal welfare by delivering a broad range of community-based veterinary, care and education services in the UK and overseas.


2019 | Queen’s Commonwealth Trust
The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust finds and funds young people whose bright ideas solve local problems in education, health, the environment and sport. They support those who have set up their own not-for-profit organisations, as well as those who are leading projects that help others.


The Duke of Sussex’s Charities and Patronages

Since their engagement in 2017 Meghan Markle has shown her support for Prince Harry and his charities and patronages by joining him on a number of engagements that bring awareness to the causes close to his heart. These are not Meghan’s personal charities and patronages, but Prince Harry’s.

2017 | Invictus Foundation
The Invictus Foundation manages the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded, injured or sick Servicemen and women.


2018 | Queen’s Commonwealth Trust
The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust finds and funds young people whose bright ideas solve local problems in education, health, the environment and sport. They support those who have set up their own not-for-profit organisations, as well as those who are leading projects that help others.


2018 | Sentebale
Sentebale supports the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana. Our programmes of education and care provide the tools and knowledge this vulnerable generation need to live long, happy, healthy lives in future.


2018 | WellChild
WellChild is the national UK children’s charity making it possible for children and young people with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible.
